Vehicle History: Per limited history service receipts, it appears the 1972 240z was purchased in Southern California. Several service and maintenance items were performed at Dot Datsun on 18835 Beach Blvd. Huntington Beach. It is estimated that the vehicle was owned by two individuals previously. The 240z was purchased by my father, Jerry Bennington in Poway, CA in 1982 and was registered with 11,346 (111,346) miles on the odometer. It was driven by my father for a number of years while he worked in the Navy stationed at Miramar, CA. During my dad’s WestPac military assignments, myself, brother and sister drove the 240z off and on throughout our college years. In 1988, the vehicle was painted #75 Candy Red then parked in my mom’s garage from approximately 1992 to 2008. In 2008, I was gifted the vehicle and had it transported from Downey, CA to Wichita, KS with good intentions of restoring it to road worthiness condition. The vehicle was again garaged for approximately 11 years. In 2019, with the assistance of a local 240z enthusiast, parts were ordered and after 7-8 months of weekend get-togethers, the 1972 240z was back on the road. Future upgrades will include installation of a used ’78 280zx 5-speed that was purchased a couple years ago.
