240Z Documentation

When you purchased a new 240Z, you were typically given a Warranty Card by the dealership. That card usually included your name, address, VIN, engine number, paint color code and date of purchase. A number was also stamped in the lower left corner of the card. That number represented the number of the Datsun dealership where you purchased the car. When you buy your used 240Z many years later, this card is sometimes included in the previous owner’s available documentation. However, additional documentation that tells where the original selling dealership was isn’t available. Based on information that is currently available in the registry database, the following are the known corresponding dealerships for the numbers on the Warranty Card. The database is currently only a small subset of the total number of dealerships. Please email zregistry@aol.com if you would like to submit evidence to add a dealership to the list.

099A Econo Datsun Riverside, CA

Datsun 240Zs at the dealership had a window sticker that listed the standard and optional features on each car. In the upper right corner of this sticker is listed the port of entry for the car. Sometimes it listed a number. Sometimes it listed a port. And sometimes it listed both. If you have the original window sticker for your 240Z and it only has a number, the following chart will help you determine which port that number represents. It has the currently proven number that corresponds to to a port.
