Register a Datsun 260Z

Registration Submitted

Thank your for your Registration Submission! Don’t forget to submit the required photos.

If you are a member, this will allow me to tag you when I load it on Datsun 240Z International Registry.

Input the entire Vehicle Identification Number of the car.

Input the ORIGINAL engine number for the car. This number can be found on the plate attached to the left front fender in the engine compartment next to the brake master cylinder (Late 260Z) or the right front shock tower (Early 260Z). Input “Plate Missing” if the plate is missing and you do not have it.

Input the CURRENT engine number in the car if it’s not the original engine. I only want the L24, L26, or L28 NUMBER if that’s what’s in the car. This number can be found stamped on the block under the #5 spark plug. If the current engine isn’t one of those, you can just tell what type of engine it is, i.e., V8 250 CI, LS1, etc.

Input the Manufacture Date from the driver’s door opening plate. RS30 and GRS30 models, just say “Plate not present.”

Select the ORIGINAL Paint Code / Color of the car.

Select the ORIGINAL Interior Color of the car.

Input the name you want on the Certificate of Registration. (No Nicknames)

Input the name of the City, State, and Country where the car is currently located. International (non-United States) registration use City and Country. This input is used on the Google Earth map of all 260Zs.

Input your email address. Email addresses are not tracked, sold, or printed on the zregistry web page. Emails are used solely to communicate with the registrant in case of questions about your information.

Input all of the know/confirmed factory or dealer options for the car. Note: the only FACTORY option was automatic transmission. All other options were added by the dealership.

Input as much history of your 260Z as you know. If you don’t know a lot of its history, at least tell how you acquired it and what you plan to do or what you have already done to it. This helps to document your 260Z to the greatest extent possible.

Optional Photos


You can add additional photos of your car, up to 10 at a time. There is no limit for the optional photos. This can include original documentation, restoration photos, basically anything you want. If you want to add more than 10 photos, just refresh the page and add more. The optional photos uploads are independent of the registration data or the required photos. So you don’t need to re-do those sections.

Although the title of each block says “Required”, each one is OPTIONAL.
